When in Ozamis City, one of the attractions that should never be missed is the Misamis Occidental Aquamarine Park or MOAP. The park is located at the nearby town of Sinacaban, some 30-45 minutes jeepney ride away from Ozamis.

San Juan Bautista Church, Jimenez Misamis Occidental

The Church of San Juan Bautista in the town of Jimenez is one of the places I got to visit whil I was in Northern Mindanao. The Church is is just one of the very few remaining churches of outstanding value in Mindanao. The centuries old painting on its ceilings are still intact and has undergone restoration. The National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) has declared the Jimenez Church as National Cultural Treasure. More about this church in BYAHILO soon!

Casa Verde is one of the finest restaurants in Cebu offering large portions of ribs at a very affordable price. Casa Verde is a Spanish term for “Green House”. The restaurant used to be a house before, and has been converted into a restaurant. A lot of locals as well as tourists would go to Casa Verde and enjoy is wide array of dishes. Their bestseller is the Brian’s Ribs and Death by Chocolate for dessert. Casa Verde has other branches in Cebu, but I always go to the main restaurant when dining.

Puerto Princesa Underground River

the Puerto Princesa Under ground River system spans 8 kilometers long. Arguably, it is one of the longest underground rivers in the world. The usual tour is only up to 1.5 kilometers long. However, one can get the special tour which allows you to check out its marvelous stalactites and stalagmite formations of up to 4 kilometers.

The Puerto Princes Underground River has been declared as a UNESCO World Heritage site, and currently one of the finalist for the New Seven Wonders of Nature. (Please vote fot it, if haven’t dont it yet!).

Baker’s Hill is a popular bakery offering a wide assortment of breads. Among the most popular is the Ube Hopia which sells for PHP35/box. Each box contains 10 pieces. Quite cheap for a great tasting hopia. There’s also an area where tourists can eat the foods the bought from the bakery. There are also vendors selling other pasalubong items like cultured pearls.

Carlos P. Garcia Park

Carlos P. Garcia Park is located right at the heart of General Santos City. It sits right in front of the General Santos (GenSan) City Hall. The Park features ponds with water lilies and fishes. At the other end of the plaza is the monument of General Paulino Santos. His remains were also buried at the plaza.
