McArthur Memorial Landing Site
The General Douglas McArthur Memorial Landing Site in Palo, Leyte is I guess the most popular sites in the province of Leyte. It is on this spot where the American General fulfilled his promise when he uttered the words “I Shall Return”. Return to the Philippines, he did, though the Red Beach in Palo Leyte.

Today a 10-foot tall monument of McArthur stands along with the other characters during his return.
The memorial is a popular tourist destination, so it is not uncommon to see tourists posing here for posterity’s sake.
